Hi! I’m Andy! I know I look pretty good now, but I was not always quite this handsome. My mom, who works for In Defense of Animals, found me when I was just a puppy.  I had a real bad case of mange and every other type of nasty parasite a poor dog could possibly have.

It was 2005, and everywhere was a mess because of a really big storm everyone called "Katrina."  I was hungry, balding, itchy, dirty, and miserable and I trusted absolutely no one. I led my mom on quite a chase that first day, and boy did I howl when they finally caught me.

It’s been twelve great years ever since! Mom and I have provided foster homes for many other unfortunate pups like me, and I let them know as best as I can that it’s ok to trust people. I even let new foster puppies sleep on my back because it helps them to feel safe.
