Animal Advocate in the Spotlight!

We here at In Defense of Animals are excited to ring in the New Year with our wonderful donor, Bill Fabrocini, as our Animal Advocate in the Spotlight for the month of January. Bill has been a supporter of In Defense of Animals since 2008; we are forever grateful for his support!

Bill Shares his thoughts about the Farmed Animals Campaign at In Defense of Animals:

“I am honored to be the Animal Advocate for the first month of 2017. I believe each and every IDA campaign is important and deserves attention; however, because it is the start of the New Year I have selected the Farmed Animals Campaign for reasons that pertain to our health, respect, and compassion.

The start of the New Year is the perfect time to set health goals and that begins with eating well. It’s no secret that a plant-based diet has numerous health benefits and can help prevent many of the Western society diseases; such as, stroke, coronary artery disease, cancers, and more. Not to mention a plant-based diet will increase your energy levels, brain function, and endurance.

Respect for animals and our planet is a good lesson for all of us to teach and learn from one another. Only when we face the facts and accept the science, can we comprehend the enormity of the devastation we are creating through our current industrialized farming practices, deforestation, climate change, pollution, water shortage, etc. It is overwhelming but sadly most people just don’t seem to care or believe we can’t do anything about it. We must try.

Compassion is the most important virtue in my humble opinion. The scale of animal suffering is beyond words. Millions and millions of animals suffer daily. How can we turn our backs to their cries? We must strive to be humane to all animals.

It is my hope that 2017 will be a year filled with health, respect, and compassion.”

We are honored to have Bill on our team of Animal Advocates; his compassion is so inspiring and makes the work we do possible. Thank you Bill!
