Hi, my name is Esmeralda. I was brought by my family to Hope Animal Sanctuary because I was going to have puppies and they didn’t want me anymore, but they would not get me spayed. Why do people do such hurtful things like that?

I was in a cage so small, I could not even lift my head. It was awful, and I was so miserable.

The staff at IDA's Hope Animal Sanctuary turned my life around. They put me in a special comfy mommy room, and a few days later my babies were born. Those kind people took very good care of us. We had food to eat, a soft warm bed, and plenty of attention. I was later spayed, and now we have all been adopted into wonderful homes!
