WATCH: 2 Dogs Race to Freedom After Spending Their Lives in a Crate
A frantic call from a young guardian sent us on a two-hour drive to help two little dogs. An inspector was coming to her apartment the next day, and dogs were not allowed in the complex. She feared eviction would leave her and her two small children with nowhere to live.
Early the next morning, we headed to her home. When we arrived, other tenants thought we were the inspectors! We explained that we were there at the guardian’s request to pick up her dogs, much to everyone’s relief.

The little male came out first, barking and excited just to be outside. His female companion was a little more reserved, but equally happy to leave the apartment.
Back at Hope Animal Sanctuary, we discovered just how much their new surroundings meant to them. With no fenced area at the apartment complex where they could safely be outside, the dogs had spent most of their lives confined to a crate.
At Hope Animal Sanctuary, everything changed.
We opened the gate to the fenced yard surrounding their tiny house, and they ran! They raced around as fast as their little legs could carry them, enjoying something most dogs take for granted—the freedom to run and play.
We showed them how to use the doggie doors so they could go inside or outside whenever they wanted. Within minutes, they had it figured out!
Today, these two happy little dogs can run, play, and explore whenever they choose. Both have been spayed or neutered and will soon travel to the Northeast aboard our Hope Northbound Transport, where new lives await them.
Your donations made their rescue possible.

For most of their lives, their world was the size of a crate. Today, they have room to run—and they could not be happier.
With your help, we can continue giving dogs and other animals the happy homes that they deserve. Please donate and become part of their story.
