In Defense of Animals (IDA), an international nonprofit animal rights organization, seeks a Writer/Blogger to join our communications team. The Writer/Blogger works closely with our Social Media Coordinator, writing content for IDA’s weekly Facebook posts, eNews, and blog entries. The Writer/Blogger writes about animal issues assigned by the Social Media Coordinator, interviews IDA staff for articles about their campaigns, and researches original content for feature articles. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced work environment, enjoys working on a team, and has a healthy respect for deadlines. The Writer/Blogger is responsible for:

• Writing weekly Facebook posts, eNews, and blog entries as assigned by our Social Media Coordinator
• Researching the latest animal news for content leads
• Researching and writing action alerts for eNews
• Writing regional alerts for events
• Submitting all written materials on time
• Communicating with IDA’s Social Media Team
• Interviewing Campaign Managers
• Writing articles about IDA’s campaigns

Writer/Blogger qualifications include:
