On November 7, In Defense of Animals introduced an ordinance to Gulfport City Council, along with local groups.

It prohibits the use of dolphins and whales for any reason and would prevent the Mississippi Aquarium from acquiring dolphins.

A vigil was held to allow people to voice their concern about dolphin captivity in Gulfport.
