Mississippi Supporters: The Dolphins Need You!

Mississippi Supporters: The Dolphins Need You!

A new dolphin prison is being built right now in Mississippi. We desperately need you to come out and join us at a key meeting at Gulfport City Hall on Tuesday.

Together with Animal Advocacy Initiative of Mississippi and Sonar, we are holding a respectful vigil for the dolphins who will be imprisoned in the new Mississippi Aquarium under construction in Gulfport. The Aquarium plans to keep dolphins captive and force them to perform every single day until they inevitably get sick and die.

On November 7 at 4:30 pm we will present an ordinance that aims to ban captive dolphin abuse. A vigil of concerned Mississippi citizens will take place on the steps of City Hall afterward.

We are bringing eye-catching signs and even a pair of giant stuffed dolphins to hold, but feel free to get creative and bring your own!

The most important thing is to come in-person to show the Mayor that Mississippi people stand against animal abuse!

What: Vigil to Stop Dolphin Prison at City Council Meeting

When: Tuesday, November 7 at 4:30 pm – 6:30pm

Where: Gulfport City Hall, 2309 15th Street Gulfport 39501

You may have already called and sent emails to Gulfport city officials, and we thank you tremendously for that. However, we desperately need to keep the pressure on so that Gulfport understands that we Mississippi citizens stand against dolphin captivity abuse.

Please do whatever you can to join us on Tuesday. We don’t want to see Gulfport become another city where dolphins are used and abused.
