Joining Together to Build Shelters for Community Cats!

Joining Together to Build Shelters for Community Cats!

On Saturday, February 15, we are hosting a fun activity to help community cats! Animal advocates in the Asheville, North Carolina area will be attending our shelter building workshop with Sister Kitten Animal Rescue to help cats in need!

Community cats make their homes outdoors and are fed and cared for by one or more human caregivers. Their numbers are moderated through a process called trap-neuter-return (TNR). Community cats are typically unsocialized to humans and unadoptable.

Workshop attendees will be building 70 insulated shelters which will help provide homeless cats in the community with warm places to escape the cold winter months. The shelters are free for community cat caregivers. Participants do not need any prior experience to attend this workshop. All that is needed is a passion for helping animals!

The goal of this workshop is to accomplish two things: to provide shelters to community cats and also to demonstrate to the public how to build the shelters. For detailed building instructions of the shelters we'll be building at the workshop, click here

If you're in the Asheville area, we would love it if you joined us! You can read more about the event and RSVP here.

This event is free and open to the public.
