Just this past March, police in Mesa, Arizona responded to distressing and disturbing call. A person reported hearing a cat screaming and a man yelling that the “cat was stuck on his penis”. The witness also said the man was calling the cat a “whore.” We must ensure maximum sentencing and keep this vile sexual predator away from helpless animals!

Police arrived at the scene and found 40-year-old Michael Navage wrapped in a towel and holding his pet cat. Police also found methamphetamine in his apartment. The cat was taken to a veterinarian for examination and was found to have previously healed fractures, pelvic injuries, and internal injuries consistent with being penetrated. Navage was arrested on felony bestiality and animal cruelty. The sexually battered cat is recovering from his injuries.

We are pleased to report that Arizona has felony animal cruelty and bestiality statutes and grateful that Navage is being charged under both. Crimes this heinous deserve the harshest punishment the law can provide, plus additional steps taken to ensure other animals never get abused by depraved sexual predators ever again.
