Victory: IHOP Launching Trial Vegan Breakfast Sandwich!

Victory: IHOP Launching Trial Vegan Breakfast Sandwich!

Even though veganism has gone mainstream and fast-food chains across the country are tripping over themselves to add plant-based items to their menus, IHOP has been one of the last remaining holdouts to not offer a single vegan meal offering. That has finally changed. After years of pressure from In Defense of Animals supporters — including your strong response to our most recent action alert — and other animal protection organizations, IHOP has finally announced that it is adding a trial vegan breakfast sandwich to its menu at locations in New York City and Kansas. !

The Plant-Based Cali sandwich features a Sweet Earth plant-based sausage patty, JUST Egg, arugula, avocados, and roasted tomatoes on a vegan bun. The IHOP culinary team has been testing plant-based products for over two years to craft the perfect sandwich, so expect some serious culinary delight. And to top it off, incredibly, and in a reversal of the norm, the vegan sandwich is priced at $7.49, while its non-vegan counterpart is priced at $8.49! How is that for a pleasant surprise!?

The sandwich is currently only available at IHOP’s new, fast-casual standalone brand Flip’d at locations in Lawrence, Kansas, and New York City’s Flatiron District. . Flip’d by IHOP was created to make ordering on the go easy for fast-paced New Yorkers, but also to give IHOP room for testing and innovating new options. The Flatiron branch is owned by Bryan McKenzie, who is himself a vegan. New Yorkers, treat yourself to a delicious meal and show IHOP that you want this and more vegan options rolled out nationally!
