Join In Defense of Animals ambassador, Billy Simmonds at the upcoming Los Angeles Animal Save vigil this September.
On September 17, Billy will speak at the LA Animal Save vigil about the importance of bearing witness and broadening our advocacy to empower ourselves and uplift others.
What is bearing witness? Bearing witness is being present in the face of injustice and trying to help. The Save Movement is influenced by the Philosopher Leo Tolsoy who famously said, "When the suffering of another creature causes you to feel pain, do not submit to the initial desire to flee from the suffering, but on the contrary, come closer, as close as you can to him who suffers, and try to help him.”
Billy Simmonds is the winner of the 2009 Mr. Universe title, an Australian professional natural bodybuilder, power lifter, martial artist and vegan. Be inspired by Billy’s message, give water to pigs before their slaughter, and share their story with the world.
