Ohio Residents: Urge Antioch College to Cancel Lamb Slaughter!

This alert is no longer active, but here for reference. Animals still need your help.

Any day now, Antioch College plans to brutally slaughter nine lambs who are currently held on campus. The clock is ticking, and our time to save them is running out. Please join us in urging Antioch College to reverse the lambs’ death sentence and release them to a sanctuary.

Nine lambs who are being used to crop grass in a solar panel field on Antioch College’s campus in Yellow Springs, Ohio, await slaughter. Over the past several months, many people have spoken up for the lambs’ defense. They include Barbara Pearl, the mother of an Antioch College alum named Jason Houten, who was killed in a tragic accident at age 23. Jason cared deeply for animals, so his mother asked the school to spare the lambs’ lives as a way to honor his memory. The school responded to her plea by callously demanding a $1 million donation for the lambs, which it said would be used to fund more animal killing. It is beyond disheartening that an academic institution would publicly taunt a grieving mother.

Antioch College still has time to turn this situation around by releasing the lambs to one of many sanctuaries who have offered to care for them free of charge. If the lambs are murdered, their blood will forever stain the College’s reputation.
