Target: Put Cruelty-Free Products Back on Shelves!

Target: Put Cruelty-Free Products Back on Shelves!

Hampton Creek’s famous "Just Mayo" and 20 other "‘Just" products were pulled off shelves after fraudulent letters alleging food safety issues were sent to Target. Despite the fact that the Food and Drug Administration has given Hampton Creek the “all clear,” Target has decided to stick with its decision and remove Hampton Creek products permanently due to a breach of a private communications contract. Apparently, Hampton Creek had no right to reassure its worried customers that its products had been declared safe. A concern solely created by Target when it decided to rip Hampton Creek products off the shelves without respectable evidence.

Something isn’t right here, and we mustn’t let this slide!

It’s so important for big chains like Target to sell tasty and affordable alternatives to animal products. Their availability is key to saving billions of animals from a lifetime of suffering.

While the perpetrator of these fraudulent letters is yet to be named, Hampton Creek has frequently been targeted by industries that exploit animals for food. Just two years ago, The American Egg Board hatched a scandalous plan that involved paying a contractor to remove Hampton Creek’s products from Whole Foods. The same Freedom of Information Act request which revealed this scandal, also revealed two separate death threats by the taxpayer-funded American Egg Board against Hampton Creek’s CEO Josh Tetrick.

Right now, Hampton Creek is pioneering animal-free “clean meat,” a move that could spare millions of animals from suffering short, brutal lives. By removing Just Cookie Dough, Just Dressings, Just Cookies and Just Mayo from shelves, animal industries are ensuring compassionate choices remain out of our reach.

We must not allow animal-exploiting industries to abuse their power against plant-based competitors.

Join us in demanding Target to reconsider its decision!

What YOU Can Do:

1) If you live in the United States, call Target customer relations between the hours of 6 am and 12 am CST at 612-304-6073. Once dialed, select 7, and wait to be connected to a team member. You can simply say: “Hi, I recently heard that Target decided to remove Hampton Creek products permanently due to a breach of a private communications contract. I’m calling to ask Target to reconsider this decision due to the harsh circumstance Hampton Creek was put in following an attack on its brand designed to sabotage its reputation. Target is where I usually stock up on Just Mayo and the rest of the Just line, so I have one less reason to shop at Target if I can’t find these products in your store.”
