We’re calling on Antioch College to provide students with a brutally honest education on its food and dining program by showing them real-life slaughterhouse footage. Our request has been sparked by the College’s plan to slaughter nine lambs and serve their bodies to students at its cafeteria this Summer.

Currently, the college is using the lambs to control grass in a solar panel field. Despite multiple sanctuaries offering to take in and care for the lambs free of charge, the school has so far refused their offers, mockingly asking for one million dollars to save their lives.

Food education should bear witness to every step of the process, even when it’s uncomfortable. Only then are we capable of making informed decisions about how our food choices impact others. We hope that with an honest acknowledgement of this brutal and unnecessary step, compassion will prevail.
