In an ideal world, the planet and all of its inhabitants would thrive and lead lives free from harm and destruction. Animals and the environment would not suffer for the sake of humans’ appetites, fashion or greed, and future generations of every species would have the opportunity to experience the awe-inspiring beauty of the world around us. There has never been a more urgent need for change and we are working to make this dream a reality!

The planet is quickly approaching an ecological tipping point during which unprecedented extreme weather, floods, wildfires, and droughts will displace millions of humans and animals. One possible strategy to circumvent these dire events is for us to collectively make massive changes to the way we produce, consume, and relate to food.

Since 1970, more than half of wild animals have been killed, mainly due to rapidly increasing human population growth. More humans means more demand for animal products, which is a highly inefficient and harmful way to feed the world; it is the primary cause of global deforestation, habitat destruction, wildlife extinction, ocean dead zones, soil degradation and climate change. Additionally, the meat and dairy industry slaughters billions of animals every year in the most inhumane methods imaginable, causing animals immense and unjustified terror and pain.

The creation of animal products like meat, cheese, and eggs not only destroys the environment, but the consumption of these products is also a leading cause of disease and death in humans. Fourteen of the fifteen leading causes of death, including cancer and heart disease, can be reversed and prevented by following a plant-based lifestyle.

The shift to a vegan world is a crucial step for the survival of animals, the environment, and humankind.
