A New York City man has been arrested after being caught brutally beating one of his partner's little dogs by the couple's building security camera this month. Urge the district attorney to seek maximum charges and ensure these dogs are not returned to their abusive home.

An elevator security camera captured Trinton Hatton's assault on one of his partner's little dogs from the journey from the ground floor until he exited on the fourth floor. He entered carrying the dog by the scruff of the neck and then proceeded to beat, whip, and kick the dog – at one point viciously kicking the tiny dog across the elevator — while the other cowered in the corner. Hatton was believed to have been enraged because one of the dogs got off-leash, and a neighbor yelled at Hatton to catch them.

In Defense of Animals

Hatton was arrested, and on April 10, 2023, the Bronx Police Department returned to the residence with a seizure order for all three dogs. Hatton's partner Hashan Brown, who bizarrely described himself as the victim of this situation, tearfully told the media he wanted his dogs to be returned, stating, "Do I understand why people are upset? Yes. Does it look like it was excessive? Yes. Is he that type of individual? He's really not."

Except... clearly he is! On April 27, his charges will be determined. It is improbable that the court will drop the animal cruelty charges that Hatton was arrested for, while authorities may decide that the dogs not be returned as long as Hatton is residing at the residence.
