A shocking case of animal cruelty in Henrietta, New York, has sparked outrage after a man allegedly killed his girlfriend’s cat, Rogue, in a violent and intentional attack. Please urge the Monroe County District Attorney’s Office to pursue justice for Rogue.

According to a sworn complaint filed by an investigator with the Humane Society of Greater Rochester, a cat named Rogue was allegedly subjected to extreme violence on February 25, 2026, at a residence.

The complaint alleges Harold Larson intentionally kicked the cat with a work boot, causing catastrophic injuries, including collapsed lungs, multiple rib fractures (acute and healing, suggesting repeated trauma), head and cranial trauma with possible brain injury, hemangioma and abdominal wall injury, extensive soft tissue damage and swelling, and life-threatening respiratory failure requiring intubation and oxygen support.

Veterinary findings described in the record conclude that the injuries are highly consistent with repeated blunt force trauma and not consistent with accidental injury.

Harold Larson has been charged under New York Agriculture & Markets Law § 353-a: Aggravated Cruelty to Animals, which applies when a person intentionally causes extreme physical pain or death to an animal companion in a manner that is especially depraved or sadistic.

If convicted, Harold Larson faces up to 2 years in prison, fines, and/or probation, mandatory psychological evaluation or counseling, and a potential ban on contact with animals.

This charge reflects the seriousness of intentional, fatal cruelty — and must be enforced accordingly.
