A man in Chicago, Illinois has been arrested after it came to light he was torturing and killing kittens and replacing them with lookalikes so that his crimes against them would not be discovered. Demand maximum sentencing in this case!

Thomas William Martel is alleged to have killed at least six kittens in horrifying ways in the last three months. He's been charged with six felonies, four for aggravated cruelty to animals and two for animal torture.

Martel's girlfriend is reported to have given him up to authorities after he showed her the remains of a kitten he claimed to have microwaved and told her he had enjoyed killing them since he was a child. Martel sought kittens on Craigslist and named each of them Shelly, so his mother would not notice the change in cats.

Unfortunately, Martel was released after posting a $75,000 bond, but he is at least required to wear an electronic monitor and has been told that he may not have any contact with animals.
