In an evil act of vengeance, Madison M. Gautreaux burned the eyes and ears of her friend’s dog BoBo, leaving him with injuries so severe he died the next day. Act now to urge the District Attorney to push for maximum sentencing for this heartless and wicked act of cruelty by signing our letter today.

On August 16, 2018, Madison M. Gautreaux, of Moreauville, Louisiana lit the face of an innocent dog on fire and tortured him to death. It’s suggested Madison was acting in vengeance towards Norris Lemoine, BoBo’s guardian, based on Facebook communications that clearly indicate Norris and Madison had a volatile relationship. Madison wrote an incriminating post on her Facebook page the day of her indefensible act.

Moreauville Police Chief Scott Lemoine filed charges against Gautreaux on August 18, 2018. Two days later, Lemoine announced Madison’s bond was set for $25,000, which is still unpaid. She was booked into the Avoyelles Women’s Correctional Center where she remains.

For intentionally torturing BoBo and causing fatal injuries, Madison M. Gautreaux faces multiple charges with a combined sentence of up to 11 years imprisonment and $27,000 in fines, if maximum sentencing is properly served.

For aggravated cruelty to an animal, a conviction carries a fine between $5,000 - $25,000, a prison sentence between 1 - 10 years, or both. With this conviction, Madison would be ordered to undergo a psychological evaluation and subsequently recommended psychological treatment, and would also be banned from "owning" or keeping animals for a period of time decided upon by the court.

For damage to property with intent, if the value of the damage is less than $500, a prison sentence of up to 6 months and a $1,000 fine is possible. The aggravated assault charge can carry a fine of up to $1,000, imprisonment up to 6 months, or both.

Gautreaux initially pled not guilty at her arraignment but she has now pled guilty to the wicked crime and faces 8 years imprisonment. Gautreaux’s trial is set for January 14, 2019, and In Defense of Animals will be there to speak for BoBo.
