MEDIA RELEASE: Reward to Catch Florida Woman Who Drowned Dog in Airport Toilet Climbs to $3,500
CLERMONT, Fla. (March 26, 2026) — Six months after a warrant was issued for her arrest, In Defense of Animals is adding $2,500 to a $1,000 reward offered by the Clermont Police Department — bringing the total to $3,500 — for information leading to the arrest and conviction of Alison Agatha Lawrence.
Lawrence, a resident of Clermont, is wanted for aggravated animal cruelty after airport surveillance video documented her entering a bathroom at the Orlando International Airport with her dog, Tywin, and exiting without him.

The horrific incident ocurred on December 16, 2024, after Lawrence was reportedly denied entry onto an international flight because she lacked the proper paperwork to travel with a dog. Instead of making alternate arrangements, Lawrence allegedly drowned Tywin in an airport toilet before boarding her flight to Bogotá, Colombia, and eventually Ecuador. A necropsy conducted by a veterinarian at the University of Florida determined the dog had been intentionally drowned.
Investigators identified Lawrence through items left behind at the scene, including dog gear, a collar, a rabies tag, a companion vest, and a dog travel bag.

Upon returning to the United States, Lawrence was arrested by the Lake County Sheriff’s Department on March 18, 2025, and charged with aggravated animal cruelty and tampering with evidence. However, after she failed to appear in court on September 5, 2025, a warrant was issued for her arrest. She remains a fugitive.
Prior to her disappearance, In Defense of Animals delivered a letter with 11,998 signatures to the Office of the State Attorney, urging maximum sentencing for Lawrence and a mandate barring her from engaging with animals for the maximum time allowed by law.
“In Defense of Animals is asking the community to report any information leading to the apprehension of Agatha Alison Lawrence for her violent and unthinkable betrayal of Tywin. An individual who determines their only option in a stressful circumstance is to brutally kill their own dog must be held fully accountable,” said In Defense of Animals’ Justice for Animals Senior Campaigner Doll Stanley.
