Demand Justice for 4 Sexually Abused Dogs in Mississippi

This alert is no longer active, but here for reference. Animals still need your help.

Our Hope Animal Sanctuary and Justice for Animals campaign routinely work together to support law enforcement with investigations and rescues. Last year when our sanctuary was contacted by the Carroll County Sheriff's Department seeking help on a shocking bestiality case, we stepped in and rescued four dogs. Now that case is making its way through the court system. Urge the prosecution to seek maximum penalties!

In November 2022, the Carroll County Sheriff's Department served Michael Edward Bobbitt with a search and seizure order, seizing evidence that included a computer. He was arrested and booked at the Carroll Montgomery Regional Correctional Facility after being charged with two felony counts of “unnatural intercourse with a beast” and one count of sexual battery against his wife Christy.

His initial request to reduce his $350,000 bond was denied, but In Defense of Animals later called out retiring Fifth Circuit Judge Joseph Loper for reducing it to $50,000 to allow him to bond out to work.

Christy surrendered herself at the Grenada County Jail and was charged with four felony counts of “unnatural intercourse with a beast.”

In Defense of Animals

Our Hope Animal Sanctuary staff assisted with seizing four dogs from their property who have since been adopted into loving forever homes. This month, a grand jury indicted each of the Bobbits on charges of bestiality, sexual assault, and aggravated animal cruelty. Our Justice for Animals Senior Campaigner Doll Stanley has met with incoming District Attorney Adam Hooper regarding this case and is urging maximum penalties.

It's likely their attorney will want to avoid having to show their vile videos to a jury or Circuit Court Judge Devo Lancaster who has a track record of being tough on animal cruelty.
