North Carolina Woman Charged With Felony Animal Cruelty for Torturing Dog
This alert is no longer active, but here for reference. Animals still need your help.
A North Carolina woman is facing a felony animal cruelty charge after being caught violently abusing a dog. Demand maximum penalties in this case.
According to the Craven County Sheriff’s Office, it received a report and video of animal cruelty in January. An investigation led to the identification of Ricki Lee Bullard. When officers executed a warrant, she was taken into custody and charged with felony animal cruelty, which can result in approximately 17 months in prison.

In addition to criminal penalties, the court may impose restitution for costs associated with the investigation and care of animals, order the forfeiture of any animals involved, impose a ban on keeping animals, and mandate psychological counseling or treatment.
The dog seen in the video being maliciously beaten, kicked, and strangled was thankfully seized.
This case demands accountability. No animal should endure such suffering. We call for the strongest possible outcome and ensure that justice is served.
