Every day, we lose dozens of animal species to extinction forever. Extreme weather disasters are ravaging communities of animals including humans. Both are warning signs that this damaged planet we call home needs a lifeline. We have an urgent responsibility to ensure our decision-makers curb carbon emissions with the Green New Deal before we lose Earth as we know it!

The Green New Deal is an idealistic non-binding policy plan that could inspire action to drastically reduce the nation’s carbon emissions which would benefit animals and the environment. 

The Deal sets out to secure for all people of the United States for generations to come: clean air and water; climate and community resiliency; healthy food; access to nature; and a sustainable environment.

It also highlights the inconvenient truth that humans contribute to global warming on a massive, highly destructive scale. Animal farming is a key driver of climate change and mass extinctions due to heavy carbon and methane emissions, pollution, and overuse of precious resources like land and water.

It’s clear that we need sustainable agriculture; and the only truly sustainable farming is plant-based. Even the opponents know that “building a more sustainable food system that ensures universal access to healthy food” means replacing dirty, polluting cruel traditional meat in favor of lab-grown or plant-based products.

The Green New Deal is also all about “restoring and protecting threatened, endangered, and fragile ecosystems through locally appropriate and science-based projects that enhance biodiversity and support climate resiliency, and ensuring that public lands, waters, and oceans are protected and that eminent domain is not abused.”

Animals and the environment need your urgent support today for the Green New Deal to transition the U.S. away from unsustainable practices that exploit animals and the planet, in favor of a green, plant-based economy which will improve the health of all animals, and the environment.
