How Can Natural Disasters Inspire Your Activism?

How Can Natural Disasters Inspire Your Activism?

Between hurricanes, earthquakes, and floods, do you ever wonder how you can get involved to help animals when natural disasters strike? As a nation, we collectively learned the importance of taking animals with us when we evacuate from Hurricane Katrina. Since that largest animal rescue effort in US history, residents are mandated by law to bring their animal companions with them when they evacuate. Yet, what happens to wild or confined animals like Lolita, the lone orca who weathered Hurricane Irma at Miami Seaquarium? How can we help all animals from outside the affected area?

Join us to pitch ideas and share rescue stories during our next Animal Activist Online Support Group on Thursday, September 28, 5 p.m. – 6 p.m. PT (8 p.m. – 9 p.m. ET) hosted by Sustainable Activism Campaign Director Lisa Levinson.
