How Can You Practice Mindful Activism?

How Can You Practice Mindful Activism?

Animal activist and religions scholar Marion Achoulias answers this question and more during our next webinar on mindful activism, engaged spiritual practice, and embodied ethics! We’re thrilled that we have the good fortune to interview Marion just as she returns from the vegan monastery Blue Cliff in Upstate New York as a newly ordained member of the Order of Interbeing established by Zen monk Thich Nhat Hanh, who encourages and promotes veganism.

Marion has taught undergraduate courses in ethics, psychology of religion, and women’s religiosity at Concordia University in Montreal. Her current focus is early Buddhist animal ethics and she is co-founder of Kebek Animal Rights Association and co-organizer of the Montreal and Ottawa Marches to Close all Slaughterhouses..

Marion shares her intersectional approach to mindful activism on our next Vegan Spirituality Online Gathering on Thursday, September 14, 5 p.m. – 6 p.m. PT (8 p.m. – 9 p.m. ET). Participate by phone or online with your hosts “Peace to All Beings” author Judy Carman and In Defense of Animals’ Sustainable Activism Campaign Director Lisa Levinson.
