Luxury department stores worldwide are denouncing the undeniably brutal fur trade by eliminating animal fur. Saks Fifth Avenue, Nordstrom, Macy's and Bloomingdale's have all pledged to go fur free in response to consumer demand. Urge Bergdorf Goodman to follow suit by banning animal fur today!

The fur sold in department stores is the product of immense suffering and cruelty. Fur-bearing animals, including mink, foxes, raccoons and rabbits, among other species, are confined to filthy, cramped cages for prolonged periods of time and are killed in unimaginably agonizing ways. The terrified animals may be bludgeoned, gassed, or vaginally or anally electrocuted to ensure the fur itself is not damaged. Undercover footage of fur farms has shown that they may even be skinned alive. Even more animals are trapped in the wild, where they suffer in snares and traps until they die of starvation or dehydration or trappers return to shoot them.

Now more than ever, it is important to also note how detrimental buying fur really is to our own health. Mink are highly susceptible to COVID-19. They can catch the deadly virus from humans and can transmit it back to humans. This cycle has led to the development of mutated strains of the virus.
