Billie Eilish Urges All Designers to Drop Fur!

Billie Eilish Urges All Designers to Drop Fur!

Amazing victories happen when mega-celebrities use their influence to create a better world for animals. Billie Eilish, a world-renowned singer, songwriter, and outspoken animal advocate, recently made a tremendous deal.

Eilish agreed to wear an Oscar de la Renta dress to the 2021 Met Gala under one condition: drop fur forever

Animal victims of the fur trade suffer in captivity and are deprived of everything that makes them wild. They are bludgeoned, internally electrocuted, gassed, and may even be skinned alive.

The fashion industry is increasingly rejecting this cruelty. Versace, Micheal Kors, YSL, Armani, Burberry, Balenciaga, and Alexander McQueen are just a few fashion houses that have gone fur-free. Mega-retailers including Macy’s, Bloomingdales, H&M, and T.J. Maxx have also ditched animal fur to meet consumer demand.

“I find it shocking that wearing fur isn’t completely outlawed at this point in 2021,” Eilish told Vogue. “I am so beyond thrilled that Fernando and Laura and the rest of the Oscar de la Renta team heard me on this issue and have made a change that not only makes an impact for the greater good for animals but also for our planet and environment too. I’m honored to have been a catalyst and to have been heard on this matter. I urge all designers to do the same.”

It is time we urge and congratulate all celebrities and influencers who act in defense of animals. Thank you, Billie!
