VICTORY: Sephora Bans Cruel Animal Fur Eyelashes!

VICTORY: Sephora Bans Cruel Animal Fur Eyelashes!

FANTASTIC NEWS!

We are thrilled to share that Sephora, the world’s largest beauty retailer, has just announced that it will no longer offer eyelashes made from animal fur in stores or online.

Thank you to everyone who signed our alert! Your voices were heard!

False eyelashes made from mink fur are a product of unfathomable cruelty. Mink suffer immensely on fur farms, where they endure confinement in cramped, filthy cages, and are deprived of space to roam, the freedom to make choices, and everything wild animals need to thrive. At the end of their misery-filled lives, they are gassed, internally electrocuted, or have their necks broken to steal their fur.

Sephora’s ban on fur lashes is a tremendous win for animals who will no longer be tortured and killed for “beauty.” With plenty of synthetic fur options available on the market, consumers are able to easily achieve the look of false lashes without the cruelty.

In a statement, Sephora confirmed that it started to phase out mink lashes in 2020 and will not offer them again once it’s current inventory is sold out. Sephora will only sell synthetic or faux-fur lashes moving forward.

Recently, mink held captive on Dutch fur farms were found to be infected with COVID-19 by their human captors. Tens of thousands were gassed to death in fears that infected mink could become a viral reservoir that could cause new outbreaks in humans. Fur is already deadly to mink, and now this sick, vain industry could prove fatal for humans too. The need to permanently ban all animal fur sales is especially urgent, now more than ever.

Take the next step! If you have not already done so, please urge Velour Lashes to exclusively offer vegan lashes and eliminate all animal fur from its product lines!

Thank you for using your voice to create positive changes for animals, We can’t do it without you!
