Stop Colorado’s Wild Bird Massacre!

Stop Colorado’s Wild Bird Massacre!

This alert is no longer active, but here for reference. Animals still need your help.

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) published a "wild bird damage management" proposal, which justifies killing many thousands of individuals across almost a couple hundred various species of birds including Canada geese, birds of prey, and other wild fowl in Colorado. Brutal deaths through gunshot, throat-slitting, neck-breaking, and gassing have all been used in the past and almost certainly will be employed this time if we don't stop it.  We need your immediate help to save Colorado's wild birds from horrendous deaths!

The USDA’s wild animal killing unit, Wildlife Services, placed 197 bird species on its hit list for causing damage or economic loss, with 98 the most likely avian victim species. Great blue herons made the list because they eat trout. Canada geese are on the list because it was presented that someone could slip and fall on their feces, among other equally ridiculous claims. The list even includes hummingbirds!

Wildlife Services stated that it had a public mandate to kill Colorado birds because the Service received less than ten opposing comments to its management proposal in 2013. Now is the time to voice our opposition to this cruel and senseless proposal. If we don’t act now, the USDA may brutally murder thousands of Colorado’s wild birds via the use of mobile gas chambers and other horrors!
