Hi! I’m Katie! I was found abandoned at a veterinary clinic in Canton, Mississippi by In Defense of Animals' rescue personnel. I have very delicate skin which had become raw and infected from living outside and rolling around in the dirt. I also suffered from heart worms (yuck!). My treatment would take time, patience, and a whole lot of TLC. A cage at a vet clinic was not where I needed to be.

I was welcomed with open arms at Hope Animal Sanctuary where I stayed during my skin and heart worm treatments and recovery. I was adopted and thought that I had found my forever home. But then a short time later the daughter of my family left for college and I was no longer wanted.

Luckily for me, I was adopted (again!) into a family with a true heart that realized that commitment is a lifetime thing.
