Mountain Lions Falling Victim to Freeway

Last summer, mountain lion P-39 became the proud mother to a trio of healthy kittens. Since then, she and two of her kittens were struck by cars on three separate occasions while attempting to cross Highway 118 outside of Los Angeles County. The most recent fatality was P-51. The whereabouts of the remaining kitten, P-50, are unknown.

In Defense of Animals is in support of the proposed wildlife crossing on Highway 101, not far from the equally-deadly Highway 118. Mountain Lion Foundation Director Lynn Cullens will discuss the future of mountain lions during our upcoming Hope For Animals Summit. For details, visit: www.idausa.org/HopeSummit
