Why We Work to Keep Elephants in the Wild

After the January release of our Ten Worst Zoos for Elephants of 2016 List, you have likely been feeling heartbroken and helpless for elephants suffering in zoo captivity. Watch this clip from National Geographic of elephants in their African homeland, living wild, living free, and living as elephants have the right to live, unexploited and uncaged, with endless landscape to roam with their multi-generational families and herds.

This is why we continue to advocate for an END to captivity, and why we are committed to doing everything we can to keep African elephants out of zoos- and in the wild, where they belong.

Stay tuned for our Action Alerts for each of the zoos named on our Ten Worst Zoos for Elephants List, which we send out at the end of every month. You can sign up here to help protect these magnificent beings, their families, and their natural habitats from exploitation and suffering.
