WATCH: 30 Local Businesses Join VegCrush 2026 to Celebrate Plant-Based Food!
VegCrush 2026 is underway! From Oct. 5-18, 30 restaurants and businesses across San Luis Obispo County are coming together to celebrate delicious plant-based food, support local businesses, and help rescued animals. There's still time to join the fun, discover something new, and make a difference with your next meal!
Participating businesses are featuring plant-based dishes, drinks, and cruelty-free products, with some introducing brand-new menu items just for VegCrush. Best of all, 10% of sales from featured VegCrush items will support the lifelong care of rescued animals at In Defense of Animals' Freedom Farms Animal Sanctuary in Creston.
Home to more than 50 rescued animals, Freedom Farms provides a haven for animals who have survived exploitation, neglect, and the threat of slaughter. Every VegCrush purchase helps provide essential care, including food, shelter, and veterinary treatment, while giving local businesses a reason to expand their plant-based offerings.

More Than a Meal: Building a Compassionate Community
VegCrush is about more than discovering delicious food. Every plant-based option creates an opportunity to choose compassion over animal suffering, while demonstrating the growing demand for food that doesn't depend on raising and killing animals.
In partnership with the Plant Based Treaty, VegCrush is also encouraging lasting change throughout San Luis Obispo County. By making plant-based meals more accessible and appealing, restaurants and communities can help protect animals, reduce environmental harm, and make compassionate choices easier for everyone.
San Luis Obispo residents can take that commitment even further by calling on local leaders to support greater access to plant-based food in restaurants and public institutions.

This Is Just the Beginning for VegCrush!
As the first event of its kind in San Luis Obispo County, VegCrush 2026 is laying the groundwork for an annual celebration that brings more businesses, communities, and animal advocates together each year.
The goal is to build on this momentum, inspire even more creative plant-based options, and make compassionate dining an everyday part of life throughout the Central Coast.
With VegCrush running through Oct. 18, there's still time to explore participating businesses, try something delicious, and help provide lifelong care for rescued animals.
Whether you're already plant-based, curious about trying something new, or simply looking for a great local meal, VegCrush is an invitation to discover how good compassion can taste.
