Seriously Diseased and Injured Dog Begins Road to Recovery at Our Sanctuary

A kind-hearted woman noticed a small dog limping down the side of a rural road a few miles from our Hope Animal Sanctuary in Mississippi. We gladly took the injured dog in and while she has a long way to go before she can be adopted, we’re thrilled we could help.

When the woman first saw her, she immediately stopped and put the little dog in her warm car and then made every attempt to find her guardian. When that failed, she brought her to our sanctuary.

We noticed right away that there was an exposed bone in her left front paw and so we took the dog we named Butters to our vet. He took an x-ray and found her little toe was broken and performed surgery to repair it.

Sadly, Butters has another issue to contend with. She is heartworm positive and will need several months to gain weight and recover from her injury before she can be treated for that. Once she recovers, she’ll finally be healthy and ready for a loving guardian.

In the meantime, Butters is soaking up all the love she could ever want from our devoted animal caregivers.

It’s donations from our caring supporters that make all the difference in cases like these. Please make a donation today.
