15 New Puppies at Our Sanctuary Highlight Need to Spay and Neuter

We recently took in 15 puppies at our Hope Animal Sanctuary in Mississippi, and while they’ll soon be on their way to forever homes, their story highlights the need to increase spay and neuter efforts.

These puppies, who were all about 4-months-old, had been born to several different mothers and had started needing more care than their guardians could afford, so they asked us to take them in.

These puppies are incredibly lucky that we are able to help them, that we can provide the medical care they need, and that we will find them just the right homes.  Many are not so fortunate.

Many are dumped and left alone to fend for themselves, while hundreds of thousands more are killed in shelters in the U.S. every year simply because they didn’t have homes.

This suffering and death could be prevented if people would act responsibly by spaying and neutering their animal companions.
