Newborn Puppies Left to Die Get Help From New Mom in South Korea
Right around Mother’s Day, we were alerted to three newborn puppies who had been dumped in a fertilizer bag with trash and left in a field to die. Thankfully, our partner Jindo Love Rescue was able to take them in and introduce them to Cheonsa, a very special mom who immediately accepted them as her own.
On May 12, someone had dumped the three newborns, whom we named Gucci, Chanel, and Louis Vuitton, and an animal control officer happened to be in the area and heard their cries. They contacted our Foster Mom. Sadly, they were unable to locate their mom, but they contacted the police to investigate who could do something so cruel.
They seemed to have just been born, and we had to act fast because they wouldn’t survive long without intervention. Fortunately, we had recently taken in Cheonsa, who was on a kill list with her puppies, Harper and Howie.
This sweet girl radiates love, and we were told she even nursed kittens, and when we introduced the puppies to her, she didn’t hesitate to accept them as her own.
It’s fitting that her name translates to angel in Korean because she would help yet another puppy in need. During this rescue, we also heard about Jina, another mother dog dumped at the kill shelter who died, leaving behind her own puppy, who fell into a deep depression. We knew we couldn’t leave her behind, so we named her Julie and brought her to Cheonsa too.
All six of these puppies and Cheonsa are doing so well, and we couldn’t be more grateful to be able to step in and save them all, and many other mom dogs in need.
