Red Hot Chili Peppers: Save Egypt's Dogs & Cats from Slaughter!

Red Hot Chili Peppers: Save Egypt's Dogs & Cats from Slaughter!

Despite public outrage, the Egyptian government continues to exterminate street dogs and cats through shootings and poisonings across the country and it additionally plans to export 4000 of these animals to be eaten in Asian countries. We must convince the Red Hot Chili Peppers to cancel their debut show in Egypt unless the government pledges to immediately stop all the violent killings and roundups.

Egypt’s residents eagerly await a historic performance by the world-renowned Red Hot Chili Peppers at The Great Pyramids of Giza on March 15. Presently, the Egyptian government has not responded to concerns regarding its atrocious mistreatment of animals and continues to poison and shoot defenseless street dogs and cats.

Making the situation even worse for animals, Egypt’s Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation plans to export over four thousand homeless dogs and cats to Asian meat dealers unless it succumbs to public pressure to cancel its diabolical plan. Without Egyptian animal protection laws or international agreements that prevent the live export of dogs and cats, international pressure to protect local animals is our last resort.

Anthony Kiedis, the vegan lead singer of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, deeply cares about animals and the environment, and there is no doubt he will be appalled and disgusted when he learns of the Egyptian government’s horrific and unforgivable treatment of animals.  As one of the best-selling bands of all time and winner of six Grammy Awards, this band is perfectly positioned to take a stand for Egypt’s street animals.

Egyptian media is hyped for the band’s rare performance on the African continent, and the band has made a video tour promo as well.
