Tigger and Toby Get Saved From Neglect and Death in Mississippi

Meet Tigger and Toby. These precious young cats are just two of many unwanted kittens born to cats with negligent guardians who failed to spay their female cats in Mississippi. We help as often as we can through our Hope Animal Sanctuary, but the chronic lack of awareness and motivation to solve the issue greatly hinder our efforts. Luckily, through our efforts, these kittens will find good homes out of state.

Tigger and Toby are the lucky ones. Many others are just dumped in rural areas and left to fend for themselves. This usually happens when they are very young babies, giving them not much chance of survival, and they can suffer greatly before they die. They are ravaged by parasites, attacked by wild animals, and often hungry or thirsty, fighting for scraps and to stay where they would like without being chased away.

Tigger is our lucky orange kitty and is very playful. Tobi is our lucky black kitten and is more laid back. We ended up with them after their guardians said that their cat had had kittens and they needed help finding homes for them after finding homes for the other kittens born at the same time.

We offered to have the mom cat spayed and we were thrilled when the cat’s guardians did the responsible thing and showed up at the vet for the appointment. So, there’s one kitty who will have no more kittens when there are so many deserving kittens and too few homes for them.

We have had these adorable baby cats for about a month. They are placed through our partnerships with trusted rescue organizations in the same way that we place unwanted dogs. They will most likely go on transport in August.

Please don’t be part of the problem. Spay and neuter or otherwise sterilize your cats and dogs so that other cats and dogs can find homes rather than being killed after a terrifying stay at a shelter.
