WATCH: Abandoned Newborn Puppies Rescued from Under a House

A young man recently called our Hope Animal Sanctuary asking for immediate help on behalf of a large group of almost-newborn puppies. The mother dog had come to his house as a stray and soon after had a litter of puppies under his house.

A few days after the puppies were born, he noticed he had not seen the mom in a couple of days. Knowing this was a life-and-death situation for the puppies, he reached out for our help. Of course, we said yes.

He crawled under the house, retrieved the very hungry puppies, and brought them straight to the sanctuary. Once they arrived, they were divided between two people for bottle feeding since there were 8 of them altogether. They each had to be fed every 3 hours, 24 hours a day until they were old enough to eat on their own.

We’re very happy to report that all the puppies survived despite becoming motherless at such a young age. Just 5 weeks later, the puppies began eating a soupy food called puppy gruel which means that they’re now able to be put up for adoption. Next week they will head to the Northeast through a rescue partner to new homes!

Your kind donations allow us to save lots of puppies and adult dogs as well as kittens and adult cats. Please take a moment to learn more about what we do. Thank you!
