When Cheeto the kitten came to our Hope Animal Sanctuary with his feline siblings, he was severely underweight and had a horrible upper respiratory infection. These are conditions that we see on a regular basis when rescuing kittens, but Cheeto was different because he couldn’t walk. Luckily for him, he found a most loving home anyway.

Things did not look good for Cheeto when we first got him and his siblings. We will never know what happened to him, but besides having a severe upper respiratory condition and being extremely underweight, he also sustained an injury that caused him to have no use of his rear legs. 

Luckily for him,  our animal caregiver, Candi Daves, decided she would make sure to do everything in her power to make sure that Cheeto has a great life. She worked hard to be sure he had the medicine needed to overcome the upper respiratory infection and to help him gain the weight he needed to be healthy.

Candi fell in love with the little adorable Cheeto and decided that he should make his home with her and her family. Today, Cheeto is a happy and healthy kitten. Although he does not fully use his back legs, he runs and plays and enjoys life to the fullest.
