This Cat’s Wound Was So Severe That Even The Doctors Were Shocked

Maggot wounds are a major issue for homeless animals, as they don’t have the same level of supervision as those in homes. However, a recent patient in our Deonar Centre in India shocked the team with a maggot wound so severe that the bones of his leg were exposed.

The cat was from Kannamwar Nagar, Vikhroli East and was brought to the Center by some human friends who were watching out for him. Dr. Ghanaway quickly operated and surgically removed the exposed part of the leg, which was horribly disfigured from the wound.

Dr. Parab and the dressing team took over from there, providing daily care to the cat. A few months later, the cat had fully recovered and was released back into the custody of the friends who had brought him in. Before release, he was sterilized and vaccinated. Now, he’ll be back with his friends, no longer forced to suffer the immense pain that he had been enduring before.

If this story makes you happy for this cat, please consider the other cats we could help with a donation. Thank you for caring.
