Baskin Robbins: Where’s Your Dairy-Free Ice Cream?

This alert is no longer active, but here for reference. Thanks to your support, we have a victory!.

Baskin Robbins is known worldwide for its rich and creamy ice creams, but only its sorbets are free of animal products. Don’t get us wrong, sorbets are delicious. But they’re not ice-cream - not even close! Wouldn't it be great to have a creamy coconut, soy, or almond based choice? Let's see if we can convince Baskin Robbins to join the ranks of other major ice cream brands and release a dairy-free ice cream!

There are so many good reasons for Baskin Robbins to create a dairy-free ice cream. Plant based options are not only better for the environment, and your health, but they reduce animal suffering too. Growing up, many of us were never told that cows can only lactate when they have a baby to feed. We were also never told that after enduring nine long months of pregnancy and hours of labor, that a dairy cow's newborn is dragged away to be slaughtered immediately or kept miserably alive to also be used. Surely, we can agree that these newborn calves — the forgotten "waste products" of the dairy industry — and their moms deserve better, can't we?

Many people who are considering the transition to plant-based options are put off by the thought of giving up their favorite treats like ice cream. Just imagine being able to say to them, “You can do it! Have you tried Ben and Jerry’s, Breyers, Häagen-Dazs and Baskin Robbins brand new dairy-free ice creams? They’re delicious and you can find them almost anywhere!"

It’s so important for big chains like Baskin Robbins to sell tasty and affordable alternatives to animal products. Product availability is key to saving billions of animals from a lifetime of suffering. As we have seen from Ben and Jerry’s, Breyers and Häagen-Dazs, big dairy-based companies are willing to meet our demands for dairy-free products, but they simply won’t change unless we can prove there is a growing market. So let’s speak up!
