Blind Dog Heaven

Blind Dog Heaven

In the heart of busy Mumbai, India’s most populous city, In Defense of Animals - India regularly takes in dogs and cats whom, it seems, have won the unlucky lottery.

They are not only homeless – they are sightless.

Blind, sometimes since birth... or from fights... or sometimes from cataracts or painful glaucoma, they can’t see to avoid danger coming. They can’t find food and they can’t find shelter.

It’s a miracle that these homeless friends survive at all.

Except they do – and they are full of love.

44 of these rescued pooches are living in peace at our “Blind Ward” right now.

Some of these extra-special dogs – not only in our IDA-India Blind Ward, but still on the streets – have completely curable conditions.

On our bootstrap budget, it’s just too much of a cost to cover all of the surgeries that could help these blind dogs to see. The cost of just one uncomplicated cataract surgery is nearly $2,000.

But, what if we could plant a beautiful garden for our permanent blind residents... then join with others to bring surgery and sight to our blind friends who can be cured?

Picture a homeless blind dog as he sniffs the soft perfume of his first flower... or another unfortunate dog as she takes her first happy steps with restored eyesight. With a little love from you, a garden oasis can become a reality.

Imagine soft, green grass to comfort blind doggy toes... the sweet scent of flowers, to tickle each blind doggy nose... plus a gentle ramp and safe gateway to keep them from straying.

Imagine if you could say, “First, I brought a garden of joy to a homeless blind dog today. Then, I gave another the miracle of sight.”

What a gift yours would be!

For all the love these gentle hearts hold, please give as generously as you can.
