Stepping In For A Homeless Dog With a Suspicious-Looking Wound

A desperate call from the client of a bank in Navi Mumbai alerted our IDA India team to the extreme suffering of a terribly wounded dog. To make matters worse, the wound appeared to be caused by an intentional knifing.

The dog, who we named Lovely, was seen near the bank when the client called our team. We leapt into action and swooped in to grab Lovely, who was in urgent need of medical attention.

Shortly after arrival, she was operated on and our surgeon, Dr. Ghanawat, sutured the massive wound. Through continuous treatment and daily dressing by Dr. Londhe, Lovely slowly, but surely, began to heal. After a few months, Lovely was back to normal health. The wound had been treated so well that the scar was not even visible.

Lovely was given an anti-rabies shot and released into the custody of friends from her locality. These friends will keep an eye on Lovely and make sure she stays in good health and that no one hurts her again. To help us provide care for other animals like Lovely, who don’t have anywhere else to turn, please donate today.
