Orphaned Kitten Now Has Hope at Our Sanctuary in Mississippi

It’s always a tragedy when animals lose their mothers, but it’s also rewarding to be able to help orphans in need. Little JD and his siblings came to us when he was just days old after his mother was killed, and while his siblings didn’t survive, he’s a fighter and we’re going to make sure he finds the perfect home.

JD and his siblings were just tiny 4-day-old kittens when they were brought to our Hope Animal Sanctuary in Mississippi. Their mother had been killed by a vehicle, and they were brought to us by her guardian for help.

Kittens that young are always a lot of work. They need to be fed every 2-3 hours 24 hours a day until they’re at least 5 weeks old. Our caretakers split them up and worked hard to keep them alive, but sadly only JD survived.

While the loss was heartbreaking, we’re glad we could help and love watching JD grow stronger every day with our care. In a few weeks, he’ll be transported to one of our rescue partners, who will place him in the perfect forever home.
