Abandoned Persian Cat Makes Remarkable Recovery in India

Abandoned Persian Cat Makes Remarkable Recovery in India

There’s no shortage of animals in need of help in India, but we’re experiencing chronic abandonment issues with Persian cats like Snow who continue to be dumped outside of our partner IDA India’s Deonar Center in Mumbai.

It seems like every other day a Persian cat is dumped outside our center in terrible condition by an irresponsible guardian. These cats can’t cope with the climate in Mumbai and require loving guardians who will go above and beyond to ensure they are well cared for and that they are groomed and have everything they need.

Sadly, right now they’re considered fashionable and there’s a high demand for kittens. Some people who buy them don’t know how to properly care for them, and end up dumping them instead.

Snow is one of the lucky ones. He was recently rescued in a terrible state by one of our assistants near her home, and she and our medical team worked hard to get him healthy and handsome again.

We’re thrilled we quickly found the perfect forever home for him, and he’s now loved and cared for. He’s the seventh Persian rescue to be adopted, and now we have five more waiting in foster care who we’re also working enthusiastically to find homes for.

You can help provide a lifeline and second chance for cats like Snow and support our work in India by making a donation.
