WATCH: Abandoned Puppies Now Safe at New Puppy House in India

Nearly every day puppies like this litter of six are dumped near our partner IDA India’s Deonar Center in Mumbai, but we rescue them all, treat them, and look for homes for each, and we recently inaugurated our new puppy house where they’ll have a safe place to stay and get the care they need in the meantime.

This litter of six little puppies was dumped outside the main gate. While we don’t know what happened to their mother, we took them in and they happily settled into their new enclosure.

They sleep a lot, love the food we serve, and they have an excellent nurse to attend to their needs. When they’re up, we have toys for them to play with, but they’re always happy to roughhouse with each other, too.

We are hoping to find each of them a good home as soon as possible, but for now, they’re safe and loved in our new puppy house.

Thanks to generous supporters, we were able to build this area, especially for our tiniest little rescues, and give them a place to heal and grow. We celebrated with a special inauguration, complete with hanging garlands and the Indian tradition of smashing a coconut to mark this auspicious occasion.
