You Helped Our Hope Animal Sanctuary Save More Than 400 Animals This Year

From unwanted litters of puppies and kittens to heartbreaking cases of cruelty, and everything in between, the number of cats and dogs who need help is overwhelming in rural Mississippi. Thanks to your generous support, over the years our Hope Animal Sanctuary has been able to provide thousands of them with a safe haven to rest and recover and given them a pathway to loving forever homes.

In 2018, you helped us rebuild and increase our capacity. Now, we’re able to help with the rescue and placement of hundreds of companion animals every year, many of whom are transported to rescue partners in the North to states including Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire.

Some come to us sick or injured and in need of serious veterinary treatment, while others have emotional scars. Calls for aid are constant, but we do our best to help in every situation we can, and we’ve been able to revel in seemingly countless positive outcomes; this fall we even celebrated one of our dogs being the best man at his guardian’s wedding!

This year alone, we saved more than 400 dogs and cats and transported nearly as many to our shelter partners for adoption. We’ve also provided heartworm treatment to 23 dogs and 113 spay/neuter surgeries.

Without Hope Animal Sanctuary, the animals we helped wouldn’t have had hope. We provided dogs like Butters with the love and veterinary care she needed. We saved tiny JD, an orphaned kitten who lost his siblings, from what would have otherwise been a heartbreaking fate, and we gave multiple litters of puppies and kittens the second chance they deserved to thrive.

In addition to the daily rescue work that keeps our dedicated staff busy, Hope Animal Sanctuary is also home to several special resident animals who need lifetime care, including Popcorn the pig, horses Everett, Danielle, and Shadow, two barn cats, and 15 dogs.

Our ability to provide the services we do to help animals in need every day is a direct result of your support; we can’t do what we do for them without you.

We’ve accomplished so much this year, and hope you will continue to support our lifesaving mission in the Deep South by making a donation.
