WATCH: Dogs Enjoy Renovated Blind Garden
Our special garden at our partner IDA India’s Deonar Center in Mumbai that’s reserved for blind and special needs dogs has seen a lot of action over the years, but it’s just gotten a major makeover and the dogs couldn’t be happier!
The Deonar Center is a permanent home to nearly 80 blind and special needs dogs who would never be able to survive on their own and would be in constant danger. Here, they get the love and care they need every single day.
In 2017, we started a fundraiser to build them a unique garden and accomplished that goal, but with the pitter-patter of many paws over the years the garden was in need of some work.
Thanks to a supporter, among many other renovations that have recently been completed for dogs and cats, the garden once again looks lush and inviting, and our dogs are sure loving it!
The garden is attached to the blind ward, so dogs can enjoy it any time they please. They can play in the grass, lay in the sun, or find a shady spot to take a nap.
This space has also proven to be invaluable for dogs who are paralyzed or seriously injured; the soft ground gives them a comfortable place to relax and enjoy the fresh air.
We’re grateful for all the support that has helped thousands of animals over the years, and hundreds every day, and allowed so many with special needs to have a space to call their own.
Please help us help more animals with special needs by making a donation.
